Water Parks

Our town has a great number of parks and a beautiful trail system that we frequent with the girls in the BOB stroller that my brother Ian got for us from REI. We decided to try out two of our water playgrounds in town. They are usually located in a large park next to the toddler play area. The water squirts up out of the ground at various locations, speeds, and forms or shapes. We thought both the girls would love them. On a very hot day this past week we put on their new swimsuits, sunscreen, and sun hats and headed over to the water park as I am calling them. The surprise was that Galina is scared of them. She wants so badly to join in the fun, but she is too scared because she cannot predict when a fountain of water will come up. There is a pattern to it, but she cannot comprehend it at this time. Valerie on the other had just likes to get wet and try and drink the water. She spent a good deal of time chasing the water from one spout to the next, not caring if it squirted her in the face or not. She was absolutely soaked and loving it. I had to finally pull her out when I saw her shivering. Galina stayed dry, but seemed content to watch. We did give her some time on the play equipment which is one of her favorite things to do; climb and go down the slides. Valerie still enjoys the swings.
