Hovander Park

Today was a glorious sunny day and we decided to take the girls to Hovander Park where they have geese, hens, roosters, turkeys, rabbits, peacocks, pigs, and sheep. It is one of the best place to enjoy the Highland Games which take place around June 1st. Galina was entranced by the noisy geese, roosters, and hens. She fed them all bread and even fed the pig. She sat there watching them just marveling at them. There were a few older children around who were also feeding the birds and she watched them too. Valerie on the other hand has a very small focus. It is what she can pick up, touch, and put in her mouth. The stones and sticks kept her interest more than the animals. We had a nice lunch there, played with bubbles, and then headed for home.

We also went to an open house at a Day care center that come highly recommended. We took the girls to the open house and both of them were very comfortable there and loved the "their size" furniture. The teachers seem very nice and knowledgeable. I can start Galina as soon as Sept. 19th. She would start at two days a week for a couple of hours and possibly working up to more. I don't think it will be a hard transition for her after all. Valerie on the other hand, still can not leave my side.
