Wrap Them in Love

Wrap them in Love is a great organization of quilters that makes children's quilts and sends them to orphanages overseas via traveling parents. Our good friend Liz is a quilter and she got us hooked up with Wrap Them in Love. In fact, she did most of the leg work for us. We just filled out the one-page application. She brought our suitcase to them in Mt. Vernon and then picked it up when it was filled. We usually stay with her on the way to the airport so we just picked up the suitcase from her house. Today we were able to bring the suitcase stuffed with quilts to Cherepanovo baby home and presented them to the staff and children in Galina's group. There were only 7 children in her group and sixteen quilts. We gave each child sitting in a row a quilt to put over their lap and took pictures. One of the staff had the idea to lay the quilts out on the floor and the children could lay on them. It was the sweetest sight. Beautiful, colorful quilts all over the floor with these tiny little tots laying and rolling all over them. Most of the children are three years of age. Galina is 4 years old, the eldest, and if we were not adopting her she would have been moved to the orphanage for the 4-year-olds and up. I am so glad we got her in the nick of time, before she would have been separated from her sister. Liz you are going to love the pictures.
